The Revvi 16" XL takes the 16" platform and turns the dial up everywhere it matters — for older kids, bigger kids, and lighter teens who've outgrown the standard 16. A 24V 600W brushless hub motor (more than double the standard 16's 250W), three speed modes topping out at 17.5 mph, full suspension front and rear, hydraulic disc brakes at both ends, and a 70 kg max rider weight that opens it up to riders the standard 16 can't carry. 16" aggressive knobbly tyres on spoked rims. Hub drive means no chain to maintain, drop or de-rail. Designed for confident riders ready for proper trail speed.

For confident riders · Adult supervision required for under-18s The Revvi 16 XL is an electric ride-on balance bike, not a road-legal vehicle. It's for use on private land, in private gardens, or on private trails — never on public roads, pavements or cycle paths. With a 17.5 mph top speed this bike is significantly faster than the standard Revvi 16 — we strongly recommend a properly fitted helmet, gloves, and protective gear. Younger or less confident riders should be locked to slow mode until they're comfortable at higher speeds.

FAQ

Is it road-legal? No. The Revvi 16 XL is a ride-on toy, not a road-legal vehicle. Use it on private land — gardens, private trails, parks where private use is permitted. Don't ride it on public roads, pavements, cycle paths or in shopping centres.

Who is it for? Confident riders aged roughly 7 and up — and because the max rider weight is 70 kg, it also fits lighter teens and even small adults within that limit. Pick the standard Revvi 16 if you want a calmer top end and a 40 kg rider weight; pick the XL if you want full suspension, hydraulic discs, and serious speed.

How does it compare to the standard Revvi 16? More than double the motor power (600W vs 250W), almost 50% higher top speed (17.5 vs 12 mph), front suspension forks plus a coil rear shock (vs none), front and rear hydraulic discs (vs a single rear drum), spoked rims (vs composite), and a 70 kg max load (vs 40 kg). The trade-off is weight — 17.4 kg vs 11 kg — and faster charge time (2h 50 vs ~6h). Different bike for a different rider.

Why a hub motor instead of a chain? Hub motors put the drive inside the rear wheel, so there's no chain to derail, drop, lubricate, or break on rough riding. Lower maintenance, more durable, quieter. The trade-off is a slightly heavier rear wheel — fine on a bike designed for trail speed rather than tricks.

Why three speed modes? Mode 1 (9.3 mph) is for getting used to the bike or for younger/lighter riders. Mode 2 (13.5 mph) is a sensible trail pace. Mode 3 (17.5 mph) is full power for confident riders on open ground. Lock it to mode 1 when you hand it over for the first time and step up as confidence builds.

How does the suspension work? 50mm travel suspension forks at the front soak up bumps and roots; a 20mm coil shock at the rear takes the edge off harder hits. It's not a downhill MTB but it's a real step up from the rigid standard 16 — comfortable on gravel, dirt, grass, and packed trails.

Hydraulic discs — overkill on a kids' bike? Not at 17.5 mph. Hydraulic discs give consistent, modulated braking with low lever effort — important when a smaller rider is hauling a 17 kg bike down from real speed. Discs also shrug off mud and water in ways drum or rim brakes can't.

How long does it run for? Around 1h 10min in slow mode, 45 minutes in medium, 35 minutes in fast. Real-world play time is usually longer because riders stop, start, and back off the throttle frequently. Battery is removable for indoor charging.

How long does it take to charge? About 2 hours 50 minutes from empty — fast for a battery this size. The included UK charger plugs into a standard mains socket.

Can the speed be limited? Yes — the rider mode selector caps top speed at the chosen level. Parents can set it to mode 1 and leave it there until the rider is ready to step up.

How heavy is it? 17.4 kg. That's heavier than the standard 16 (11 kg) because of the suspension, hydraulic brakes, and bigger motor. Most older kids can manage it themselves; a 7-year-old may want a hand righting it after a tumble.

How does it arrive? Mostly assembled. Handlebars and any final tightening with the included tools — about 10–15 minutes from box to first ride.

Can I buy a spare battery? Yes — contact us if you'd like a spare added to your order.
