The Revvi 18" is the flagship of the Revvi range — a serious electric off-road bike for older kids and pre-teens. 36V 500W brushless hub motor, three speed modes topping at 19 mph, full suspension (80 mm hydraulic front fork, 30 mm air rear shock), hydraulic disc brakes front and rear, and 18" metal spoke wheels with aggressive knobbly tyres. The 36V 5Ah battery fast-charges in 1h 50min — a few hours of riding from a school-day's worth of charge time. Designed for ages 8–12, with a 50 kg max rider weight and a seat that adjusts from 66 to 74 cm.

Delivery — UK Warehouse · 2–5 working days · Fully tracked

For ages 8–12 · Adult supervision and protective gear required The Revvi 18 is a serious off-road kids' bike — 19 mph top speed and proper hydraulic disc brakes mean it's no longer a learner toy. Use only on private land or dedicated off-road trails where you have permission to ride. Adult supervision required at all times. We strongly recommend a properly fitted full-face or motocross-style helmet, gloves, and knee/elbow pads — a regular cycle helmet is the minimum, but the speed and terrain warrant proper kit. Not road-legal.

FAQ

Is it road-legal? No. The Revvi 18 is a private-land off-road bike, not a road-legal vehicle. Don't ride on UK roads, pavements, cycle paths, bridleways or in shopping centres. Use only on private land where you have the landowner's permission, on dedicated trail centres, or on a closed off-road circuit.

What age does it suit? Designed for ages 8–12. The seat adjusts from 66 cm to 74 cm — riders need a minimum inside leg of about 58 cm so both feet can plant flat at the lowest setting. Maximum rider weight is 50 kg. Some 13- and 14-year-olds will still fit if they're slim, but they'll outgrow the seat height quickly.

How does it compare to the Revvi 16? Big step up. The 18 has full suspension (the 16 is rigid), hydraulic disc brakes (the 16 has a drum brake), a 36V 500W brushless motor (the 16 has 24V 250W), 19 mph top speed (vs 12 mph), 50 kg max load (vs 40 kg), and metal spoked wheels (vs composite). Almost double the weight at 20 kg. Pick the 16 for ages 4–7 or smaller older riders; pick the 18 for confident 8-year-olds upwards who've outgrown the smaller bikes.

Why three speed modes instead of two? The 18 can reach 19 mph in mode 3 — that's adult-e-bike territory. The lower modes (9.5 mph and 13.5 mph) let parents cap the speed for less experienced riders, then step up as confidence builds. Mode 3 should only be unlocked when the rider has clearly mastered modes 1 and 2.

How does the suspension help? A 19 mph kid hitting a tree root or a kerb on a rigid bike is a crash; with 80 mm of fork travel and 30 mm of rear shock, the bike absorbs the hit instead of bouncing the rider off the seat. Full suspension is the difference between fun off-road riding and a bruised tailbone — non-optional at this performance level.

Why hydraulic disc brakes instead of drums? Hydraulic discs offer much more stopping power and finer modulation than drum brakes — essential at 19 mph. They're also self-adjusting as pads wear. Mechanical discs would have been adequate but hydraulic is the right call for the speed.

How does the hub motor work? The motor is built directly into the rear wheel hub, so there's no chain. Twist the throttle, the wheel spins. Direct drive means quieter operation, less maintenance, and no chain to fall off mid-ride. The trade-off is the bike doesn't free-wheel as easily as a chain-drive bike does — pedalling with the power off feels heavier than the smaller Revvis.

How fast does it charge? Around 1 hour 50 minutes from empty — significantly faster than the Revvi 16 (5.5–6 hours) despite the bigger battery, thanks to a higher-output charger. A school day's worth of charge is more than enough for a weekend's riding.

What's the real-world ride time? 1 hour 20 minutes in mode 1, 45 minutes in mode 2, 25 minutes in mode 3 with constant throttle. Real-world play time is longer because riders stop, start, and pause. With a removable battery, swapping to a spare gives effectively unlimited ride time across an afternoon.

How heavy is it for the rider to lift after a fall? 20 kg — too heavy for most under-10s to right unaided. Older riders and pre-teens with a bit of strength manage fine. Parents should expect to help the smaller end of the age range pick the bike up.

How does it arrive? Mostly assembled. Handlebars, possibly the front wheel, and final tightening with the included tools. About 20 minutes from box to first ride for a parent comfortable with basic spanner work.

Can I buy a spare battery? Yes — Revvi sells higher-capacity upgrade batteries for the 18. Contact us if you'd like one added to your order.
