The AOVOPRO Mini80 is the compact scooter in the AOVO range — at just 10 kg and 94 cm long, it's the lightest and smallest scooter we stock. AOVOPRO market it as suitable for under-12s, and the smaller dimensions do fit younger riders well, but the spec is closer to the entry adult AOVOs: same 350W motor, same 15.5 mph default top speed, same 8.5" solid tyres, same disc brake. The 4.5Ah battery is the trade-off — 12-mile range vs 18 on the ES80/AP07. The pick when size and weight matter more than range — for younger teen commuters, smaller adults, or anyone who wants the absolute lightest scooter on our shelves.

What makes this different Lightest scooter in the catalogue (10 kg) · 94 cm compact length · Same 350W motor as ES80/AP07 · 12-mile range · 8.5" anti-skid solid tyres · Disc brake + electronic · App control via 365scooter · App-adjustable speed limit — set lower for younger riders

Usage notice — private land only · supervise younger riders carefully UK law currently makes privately-owned electric scooters illegal on public roads, pavements, and cycle lanes regardless of speed or power. Use only on private property with permission. AOVOPRO market the Mini80 for under-12s on the basis of its smaller form factor, but the default 15.5 mph top speed is fast for younger children. For under-12s, set a lower speed limit in the 365scooter app before first ride and supervise closely. Helmets and protective gear are essential at any speed.

FAQ

Can I ride it on the road? No. UK law currently makes privately-owned e-scooters illegal on roads, pavements and cycle lanes — regardless of speed or power. Ride only on private land where you have the landowner's permission.

Is it really for under-12s? AOVOPRO say yes — that's how they market it. The smaller dimensions do fit younger riders well, and the 8.5" tyres and shorter deck make it easier to handle than a full-size scooter. But the default top speed is 15.5 mph — fast for an under-12 with no riding experience. Use the 365scooter app to set a lower speed cap for younger riders (it'll go down to about 4 mph for first-time use), and only step it up as the child gains experience. Adult supervision and a properly fitted helmet are essential.

Can adults ride it? Yes. Max rider weight is 120 kg, the same as our adult AOVOs. The Mini80 is shorter and the deck is smaller, so taller adults will find it cramped — but for smaller adults, light commuters, or as a compact second-scooter, it works fine.

How does it compare to the AOVOPRO ES80? Same 350W motor, same 15.5 mph top speed, same disc brake, same solid tyres, same charge time. The Mini80 is shorter (94 cm vs 107 cm), lighter (10 kg vs 12 kg), and has a smaller battery (4.5Ah vs 10.5Ah, so 12-mile range vs 18). Pick the Mini80 if size and weight matter most; pick the ES80 if range matters most.

What's the 365scooter app? AOVO's kids/learner-focused app, used specifically on the Mini80 (and a handful of other compact AOVO models). It's separate from the AOVOPRO and Tuya Smart apps used on the ES80/AP07/ESMAX. Same kind of features — speed limit, ride data, cruise toggle — different app interface. Free on iOS and Android.

How fast does it really go? Up to 15.5 mph at the default speed limit. The 365scooter app lets you set a lower cap — strongly recommended for younger riders.

What's the real-world range? 12 miles is the manufacturer figure for an average rider on flat ground. A heavier rider, hills, or full-throttle riding will reduce that — typical real-world is 8–10 miles per charge. The smallest battery in the AOVO range, so range is the main trade-off vs the ES80 / AP07.

How does it fold? Same one-step fold as the ES80/AP07. Latch at the base of the stem releases — push the stem forward and it locks down to the deck. About 5 seconds, no tools.

How long does it take to charge? 4–5 hours from empty using the supplied UK charger.

Why solid tyres? No punctures, ever. The trade-off is they ride firmer than air tyres on rough surfaces. For pavement and tarmac, most riders prefer the no-puncture peace of mind — especially parents who don't want to deal with a flat halfway through a ride.

What protective gear should a child wear? Properly fitted cycle helmet at minimum. Knee and elbow pads strongly recommended for any rider under 12. Gloves are useful too. Don't ride in shorts and a t-shirt at 15.5 mph — falls happen.

How is it delivered? Pre-assembled and ready to ride out of the box. Just unfold, charge, and pair the app.
